Hijacking and Kidnapping Gone Wrong in Mmakau Zone 3, Mabopane


A dramatic scene unfolded in Mabopane, Mmakau Zone 3, when a hijacking and kidnapping attempt went terribly wrong, leaving the suspects on the run and one person injured.

According to eyewitnesses, a group of armed men allegedly tried to hijack a white Toyota Corolla at gunpoint early this morning. The driver, who was reportedly on his way to work, was forced out of the vehicle and shoved into the back seat as the suspects sped off.

Moments later, the car lost control and crashed into a nearby wall after the driver fought back. In the chaos, one of the suspects was injured while the others fled on foot, leaving their accomplice behind.

Residents quickly alerted the police, who arrived at the scene within minutes. The injured suspect was taken to a nearby hospital under police guard. Authorities have since launched a manhunt for the remaining suspects.

Police spokesperson Colonel Mavela Masondo confirmed the incident, saying investigations are underway. “We are following strong leads and urge anyone with information to come forward,” he said.

The community of Mabopane Zone 3 remains shaken by the incident, calling for increased police visibility and community patrols to combat rising crime in the area.
